Overseas Apparel is a Cardiff-based clothing brand that like to do things a little differently. Their unique focus on being an eco-friendly brand is what sets them apart from others, designing and printing everything at OSA HQ and hosting one of a kind events at their flagship store in Royal Arcade, Cardiff City Centre.
They pride themselves on working with different brands they feel equally passionate about including; Project Seagrass, Cardiff Dogs Home, The Rescue Hotel and Lucky Foot Leather, to name a few.
We spoke to them recently to get an insight into their work with 2wish and how their support is making an impact to others. CEO, Liam told us… “We wanted to work with a local charity to see the direct affect that the money we have raised has made.”
Liam and his business partner, and friend, Josh embarked on the challenge of a lifetime earlier this year when they decided to cycle, not only, from John O’Groats to Lands End, but also to Cardiff. Celebrating 8 years of Overseas Apparel, they decided to use this opportunity to help several local charities by raising funds and awareness, whilst embarking upon their adventure. And what an adventure it was. As two self-confessed ‘non-cyclists’ they managed to cover 1328 miles in 22 days!
The highlight of the trip was… “Living the simple life, camping every night, pub lunch every day and great company,” Liam told us.
In the spirit of doing things differently, Liam and Josh took an innovative approach to their fundraising too. They not only hosted a ‘go fund me’ page but also, sold an exclusive t-shirt design in-store to support their challenge, and sourced raffle prizes from small businesses in and around Cardiff, to showcase their wares for a great cause.
We’re truly humbled by the effort Liam and Josh put into this challenge to support the work of 2wish, and it’s been a delight from start to finish, sharing in this journey. We look forward to following more adventures with them in the future, and can’t thank them enough for their generosity. The monies raised will make a huge difference to those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person. Diolch!
