At 2wish & 2wish Cymru, we are deeply inspired by the love and commitment of individuals who have been impacted by the devastating loss of a young life. One of those inspiring supporters is Delia Roberts, a social worker and avid mountain enthusiast from North Wales, who is taking on the challenge of a lifetime to raise funds for our charity.
Delia’s connection to 2wish began through her close friendship with the family of Mabli Dafydd, a vibrant and loving 13-year-old who tragically passed away in April 2022. Reflecting on this loss, Delia shared, “No one can make this situation better for Mabli’s family… I feel so useless, but doing some fundraising for 2wish is my way of helping, albeit indirectly.”
Driven by her desire to make a difference, Delia has decided to trek Mount Kilimanjaro in February 2025, a remarkable venture that combines her love for mountains with her passion for the support services 2wish offers. “I love mountains and I love a challenge,” she explained.
2wish & 2wish Cymru provide vital bereavement support to families who have experienced the unexpected death of a child or young adult aged 25 and under. For Delia, witnessing the impact of our support on Mabli’s family was a turning point. “From the feedback and stories I’ve heard about 2wish, they are a fantastic charity who offer the support people need and deserve,” she noted. This powerful testimony is a reminder of the importance of our mission.

Delia’s trek is more than a physical feat—it is a heartfelt tribute to Mabli. “I wish more than anything that I could bring back Mabli to her Mam and Dad and the rest of her family and friends,” she shared. “They will be with me in my heart and in my thoughts every step of the way up Kilimanjaro.”
