Paul Burke Memorial Golf Day 2025 – The Highlights

Despite the stormy conditions less than 12 hours before, the sun was shining on our golfers as they gathered for the annual Paul Burke Memorial Golf Day, sponsored by UKSE. The clubhouse was buzzing with excitement as our teams checked in for a day of fun and friendly competition, in the name of charity.

At 10:30am a shotgun start signalled the beginning of the tournament. Spirits were high as players took to the course, enjoying the camaraderie and competition. 2wish staff and volunteers were also stationed at various locations across the course, to join in the festivities.

A particular highlight of the day was the “Beat the Pro” challenge, where attendees could take a swing against PGA-accredited golf coach Aled from Hensol Golf Academy. Our much-loved elephant mascot, Gorgeous George, even got stuck in, attempting a swing of his own, much to everyone’s delight.

Upon completing their game, players returned to the clubhouse for live entertainment, winners’ announcements, and prizes. Following this, the golfers took part in a raffle and an auction with prizes donated by Truffle Specialist Finance, CASS and Insight Law among others, which were a huge success in raising vital funds for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person.

As the event came to a close, the atmosphere was one of gratitude and reflection as our players celebrated not only a successful round of golf but also, a brilliant day honouring the memory of our beloved Paul Burke, and the inspiration behind our organisation. Paul was a keen golfer, and this much-loved event was the perfect way to help support others as a part of his lasting legacy.

We’re delighted to announce that the grand total raised at this event was £9720.48. This will help us significantly to continue our support to those affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all who attended and supported this wonderful day.
