As the newest member of the 2Wish board of trustees, I, Chris Grey, am deeply honoured to further my commitment to a cause close to my heart. With a career spanning 19 years in the South Wales Police, my professional journey has been defined by a steadfast dedication to public service and the well-being of our community. My roles across various departments have not only shaped my understanding of the complexities of safeguarding but also underscored the profound impact of empathy and support in the face of adversity.
In my current position as the head of safeguarding within the Cwm-Taf health board area, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible teams to protect and support the most vulnerable among us. This work, challenging yet profoundly rewarding, has reinforced my belief in the power of community and the importance of coming together to uplift one another.
Volunteering with 2Wish over the years has been a journey of the heart. The charity’s dedication to supporting families and individuals mourning the loss of young lives under 25 has been a beacon of hope and compassion. It’s a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the difference we can make through collective support and understanding.
Joining the board of trustees is a joyous continuation of my public service—a chance to lend my experience and passion to an organization that embodies the values I hold dear. I’m excited to contribute to 2Wish’s mission, working tirelessly to offer solace and support to those navigating the unimaginable. It’s a privilege to be part of a team so deeply committed to caring and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
