Ian Raikes

Trustee

From starting as a Geography Teacher in 1994, Ian has been the CEO of Southport Learning Trust since its inception in 2017 having previously been the Headteacher of an outstanding school for ten years.

The place-based Trust has grown under his leadership to a membership of six secondary, two primary schools and a special school in Merseyside striving to deliver its vision of ‘Empowering it’s communities to positively impact the world.’

Ian has been involved in a wide variety of strategic roles sitting as a board member or trustee in the fields of safeguarding and education.

Ian has developed staff, leaders and those responsible for governance at all levels to grow and successfully achieve high personal and academic outcomes for those they serve.

Ian’s Trust has recently done extensive work on raising awareness of knife crime and supporting #kNOwknifecrime, fundraising extensively to ensure bleed kits and boxes are throughout Sefton and children are trained in first aid.

Ian, as an education professional and leader of schools has seen a real need for the professional services that 2wish deliver to support staff through the sudden death of a young person and looks forward to helping the growth of the charity.
