Everest Prayer Flag Fundraiser

In October 2024, 14 walkers will be taking on the challenge of a lifetime, trekking to Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas. Among these walkers will be our beloved CEO and Founder, Rhian Mannings MBE, and our Fundraising Administrator, Bev.
As a part of their fundraising efforts, Rhi & Bev will be taking Himalayan prayer flags with them in their backpacks to display at the foot of Mt Everest. If you would like your loved ones name displayed on one of these flags, to leave a lasting legacy then this is your chance.

How Does It Work?

  1. Simply click the button below and place your one-off donation of £10.

  2. In the ‘Donation Message’ write your loved one’s name.
Please do not include any longer messages as we will not be able to include these due to limited space on the flags.

  3. We will send you a photo of your flag as it’s being tied in position at Everest Base Camp, once our trekkers arrive at their destination.

What is a Himalayan Prayer Flag?

Prayer flags are a common sight throughout the Himalayas. Traditionally used by Buddhists, these bright rectangles of cloth are often seen strung along mountain ridges and peaks and tied in sacred places.
The flags often have depictions of sacred animals including; horses, dragons, tigers, snow lions and the mythical creature, garuda.
The text often seen on these flags, is prayers for the life and good fortune of the person tying the flag.
The different colours of the flags represent the different elements – blue for sky, white for air/wind, red for fire, green for water and yellow for earth.
