At 2wish, elephants are more than just animals. They’re poignant symbols of what we stand for as a charity. They represent ‘the elephant in the room’ that big, often unspoken topic of child loss. We understand how hard it can be to talk about grief, but we believe in being bold and creating a safe space for those important, heartfelt conversations to take place.
Elephants also never forget, and neither do we. We remember every child and young person who is no longer with us, through symbolic reminders as part of our support process, and we encourage families and communities to do the same. Talking about our loved ones and honouring their memory, helps to continue their presence in our lives.
So, when you see an elephant at 2wish, know that it’s a gentle reminder that it’s OK to talk about difficult things, to remember, to feel and to grieve. 2wish supports anyone affected by the sudden death of a child or young person, ensuring that no one should have to deal with their grief alone.
Gorgeous George is 2wish’s much-loved mascot, named in honour of our founder’s son, and inspiration behind the charity. With his big ears, kind eyes, and even bigger heart, George brings smiles, cuddles, and a little bit of magic to 2wish events across England and Wales.
He’s not just a mascot. He’s our big, gentle friend who helps children and families feel safe, seen and supported. Whether he’s giving high-fives at a fun day, cheering on runners at a marathon or helping someone feel brave during a tough time, George is always there with a (HUGE!) listening ear.
