Lynne Sheehy

Trustee

Until recently Lynne was the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager for Legal & General in Wales, a position she held for 26 years following an earlier career in recruitment and hospitality.

She is a passionate and professional leader with extensive experience in delivering strategic, Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Communication programmes that deliver impact whilst enhancing corporate reputation, aligning to commercial objectives and strengthening stakeholder engagement – both internally and externally.

In her role with Legal & General, she helped set up and open the Cardiff office in 1996 and in recent years she specialised in developing an award-winning social investment fund which supports social businesses, including early startup businesses, across Wales, Croydon and Surrey.

While at Legal & General, she sat on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, the Cardiff Strategic Committee and chaired the Employee Engagement Committee.

She has held several board positions with numerous Welsh charities including Help A South Wales Child, Arts & Business Cymru and BITC Cymru’s Leadership Board, and chairing both Safer Wales and BITC Cymru’s, Impact Leadership Team.

She currently sits on the Arts & Business Cymru, Culturestep Committee. She is a business mentor for Arts & Business Cymru’s, Creative Internship programme as well sitting on the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Wales Business Advisory Group.

Lynne received the Women in Leadership Wales Award in 2017 and the IOD Wales Director of the Year Award for Inclusivity in 2019 and was privileged to have been awarded an MBE for services to the community in 2021.

Lynne has a degree in Design from Cardiff University, her partner is Robert and they have three young grandchildren who keep them on their toes!
