Covering more than 130km over the duration of 12 days, they will climb to a height of 5364m at the foot of Mount Everest.
The team will take on a carefully planned route and itinerary, plotted out by industry experts at Mountain Expeditions. Gradually gaining altitude, the team will acclimatise to their surroundings before descending to a lower level to rest, each night.
They will experience breathtaking views of the Himalayas mountain range, and sample traditional customs, supported by an invaluable team of local guides. This is sure to be a trip they will never forget, as they not only take on the challenge of a lifetime but also, raise vital funds and awareness for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person.
Not only have our trekkers been working hard to train for the rocky terrain ahead, they have also been endeavouring to raise vital funds for those suddenly bereaved. Something which is very close to the hearts of all the individuals, taking part in the expedition.

Jon Gupta has been taking part in expeditions and adventures since the age of 18, when he spent 2 weeks in jungles of Belize. Several years after, in 2009 he founded Mountain Expeditions with the sole purpose that climbing mountains wasn’t just about reaching the summit, it was about the whole journey experience, taking in different cultures and communities. This is clearly evident in the company’s ethos – the small things matter!
Jon’s extensive amounts of experience make him the perfect choice to lead our trekkers on their challenge of a lifetime. He has summited Kilimanjaro no less than 37 times, Everest 4 times (1 of which was the lesser trodden route of the North Face), as well as a rare K2 summit. Jon is also a proud Rab Athlete, member of the Alpine Club, and members of both the Mountain Training Association and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors.
