This World Elephant Day, we’re celebrating a symbol that sits at the heart of 2wish. For us, elephants represent far more than the animal, they symbolise remembrance, strength and the courage to talk about the ‘elephant in the room’, the difficult and unspoken reality of loss.

Just as elephants never forget, nor do we. We remember every child and young person who is no longer with us, while supporting those affected. With every elephant you’ll see at 2wish, we’re reminded that it’s ok to talk, remember, grieve and rely on others. Gorgeous George is more than just 2wish’s mascot, he’s a symbol of remembrance, compassion and connection. Named in honour of our founder’s son and the inspiration behind 2wish, George helps bring comfort to all involved with 2wish.

With big ears and even bigger heart, George embodies everything the elephant represents to our charity. Just as elephants never forget, neither do we, but Gorgeous George also brings joy. George helps create beautiful moments and togetherness wherever he goes.

Whether he’s giving high fives at an event, cheering on supporters or sharing a cwtch, George will always be there.

At the most unimaginable time, our memory boxes provide families with precious opportunities to create and preserve lasting memories. Each box contains keepsakes, including our much loved ‘Gorgeous George’ elephants. One elephant goes with the child or young person, whilst the other stays with the family, a reminder and connection to those no longer with us.
